WESTERNPORT - The Mountain Laurel Medical Center hosted another food giveaway, being back in Westernport for the second time this year.

The center again partnered with the Tri-Towns Area Food Pantry to serve over 200 families and distribute over 8,000 pounds of food, including fresh cheeses, canned goods, and fresh produce boxes.

"I'd again like to thank all of the volunteers who made this event possible,” said Jonathan Dayton, MLMC marketing and communications coordinator.

“The Tri-Towns Area Food Pantry partnership has been a great asset to the community. Special thanks to St. James Episcopal Church, Horizon Goodwill, and Potomac Fire Company #2, who did a great job with traffic control on such a busy day.

“As you can see by the turnout, the food needs in the community are very high, and Mountain Laurel Medical Center is glad to play a part in making the community a healthier place,” he said.
