A fast start from Frankfort failed to contain the steady pace of Petersburg, as the Vikings used a 22 point fourth quarter to outlast the Falcons 68-54. In contrast, the first quarter was all Frankfort hitting four 3 pointers, two of them from Parker Riley, to jump out to a 22-15 lead. Unfortunately for the Falcons they did not hit another shot from beyond the arc the rest of the game. The second quarter was an even match as both teams tried to establish an interior presence in the paint, but the momentum swung in favor of Petersburg as the Vikings put on a passing clinic that led to an uncontested last second shot to end the half with Frankfort ahead 35-30. The third quarter saw the Falcon lead fade away as Petersburg continued to pound the ball inside to big man Austin Vance, who finished the game with 23 points. The turning point in the game was the start of the fourth quarter, tied 46-46, Petersburg's defense suffocated the Frankfort offense. Unable to get a clean look at the basket, the Vikings defense forced Frankfort into bad passes which led to several turnovers. Frankfort made only 1 field goal in the fourth quarter while Petersburg nailed three 3 point shots to seal the victory for the Vikings.
Tyler Shanholtz scored 18 points hitting 9 of 12 free throws, while Parker Riley scored all 11 of his points in the first half. Zach Whitacre scored 2 points in each quarter for a total of 8 points, while Blake Wasson contributed 8 points and Brett Whiteman dropped in 7 points. The Frankfort Falcons JV squad won 55-42 over Petersburg. Jansen Knotts led all scorers with 17 points, Caleb Hare had 11 points, and Kodie Slivoskey was perfect from the charity stripe (4 for 4) scoring a total of 14 points.
