James R. "J.D." Davis

Elk Garden - James R. "J.D." Davis, 78, of Elk Garden, WV, died Friday, January 7, 2022 at his residence.

Born on August 19, 1943 in Tennessee, he was a son of the late Marjorie (Kitzmiller) Gummo.

Mr. Davis formerly owned and operated a retail motorcycle shop, dealing almost exclusively in English BSA bikes. He also was truck driver. Motorcycles were his passion in life and what he enjoyed doing the most. He also served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Surviving is his wife of 23 years, Karen Sue (Plew) Davis; a daughter, Angel Ambrose of Nevada; a stepson, Kevin Keen and wife Adriane of Colorado; three grandchildren, Kalvin, Rosie and Kaylenn Ambrose and two step grandchildren, Bohdan and Evelyn Keen. Also surviving is a cousin, Wilma Lee Johnson of Alabama; a brother-in-law, Mike Plew and wife Laurel of Michigan and four sisters-in-law, Cathy Richtarsic of Ohio, Margaret McWhirter of Michigan, Sally Yarrington of Louisiana and Georgia Moore and husband Lonnie of Michigan.

At Mr. Davis' request, there will be no visitation or services.

The Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Keyser, is in charge of the arrangements.
