Janet L. Chaney

Keyser - Janet L. Chaney, 79, of "A" Street, Keyser, WV, died Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.

Born on April 21, 1942 in Keyser, WV, she was a daughter of the late John Karl and Gladys Colleen (Trenter) Chaney.

Janet was a 1960 graduate of Keyser High School and attended Catherman's Business School. She was a faithful member of her high school graduating class reunion committee and kept in close contact with her circle of friends from within that class. She was employed with the WV DHHR for nearly 39 years and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Nancy Hanks Post # 3518, VFW, Keyser. Janet was also an avid cat lover and spent countless hours loving and caring for her feline companions.

Surviving are four brothers, William K. Chaney and wife Beverly of Magnolia, DE, James A. Chaney and wife Beverly of Keyser, John E. Chaney and wife Bonnie of Burlington, WV and Donald W. Chaney and wife Diana of Springfield, WV and a large number of nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Private interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
