Sheridan H. "Bub" Johnston

McCoole, MD - Sheridan H. "Bub" Johnston, 81, of McCoole, MD, died Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, WV.

Born on April 19, 1940 in Beryl, WV, he was a son of the late Sheridan H. and Grace (Friend) Johnston. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen (Riggleman) Johnston on January 15, 2021.

Mr. Johnston was employed as a pipefitter for many years and served in the US Army National Guard. He was a life member of the McCoole Volunteer Fire Department. Johnston and wife Brenda of McCoole; two grandchildren, Chad Johnston and Heather Vaughn and husband Kevin; two great-grandchildren, Paradise and Zaniyah Vaughn; a sister, Dorothy Blizzard of Cumberland, MD; three sisters-in-law, Dottie Bowman and Wanda Johnson, both of Keyser and Patsy Craig of New Berg, OR. Also surviving is his canine buddy "Zoey," his Black Lab.

At Mr. Johnston's request and due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, visitation will be private for the family.

A public graveside service will be conducted at the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Those attending are asked to please assemble at the cemetery.

The Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.

Condolences and personal reflections to the family may be left after Mr. Johnston's obituary at smithfuneralhomes.net.
