Maranda Lynn Hott

New Creek - Maranda Lynn Hott, 41, of Ash Spring Run Road, New Creek, WV, died Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Born on March 1, 1980 in Cumberland, MD, she was a daughter of Marlene D. (Dawson) Fout Lucas and stepfather, Gary Lucas of New Creek and the late Richard "Randy" Fout. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Alexia Iser; her grandparents, Charles and Wilma Fout and Howard and Vivian Dawson and her father-in-law, Frank Hott.

Maranda was a 1998 graduate of Keyser High School and was formerly employed as a certified nursing assistant with the Western Maryland Health System and Frostburg Village Nursing Home. She also worked as a residential aide with Burlington United Methodist Family Services. She loved gardening and was especially proud of the decorative pond that she worked so hard on even though she wasn't feeling well. She loved her canine companions, her Golden Doodles and Maltese.

Surviving in addition to her mother and stepfather is her husband of 12 years, Jason C. Hott; her daughters, Kiaira Iser and Gracie Simmons, both of New Creek; a brother, Christopher Fout and wife Amanda of New Creek; a special cousin who was like her sister, Crystal Dunithan of Keyser, WV; nieces and nephews, Logan, Landen, Maddie and Addison; her mother-in-law, Debbie Hott of Keyser; a brother-in-law, Scott Hott and wife Cindi of New Creek; an aunt, Twila Miller of Keyser and numerous cousins.

Friends will be received at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 4-7 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the House of Prayer, Hartmansville, WV, on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Leslie Hipp officiating. Friends will also be received at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden, WV.
