KEYSER - The Mineral County Health Department has been successful in scheduling a third day of free COVID-19 testing in Mineral County.
Health department administrator A.Jay Root announced Tuesday that testing will be offered Wednesday, June 10, from 2-8 p.m. at Frankfort High School.
Mineral County was designated by Gov. Jim Justice almost three weeks ago as one of the target counties for free testing, and two sites were set up for last week - Friday in Piedmont and Saturday in Keyser.
Root said a total of 514 people were tested over the two-day period, and he plans to release the results as soon as they are all received.
Like the testing done last week, the June 10 testing is open to anyone as long as they are a Mineral County resident and can provide a driver’s license or other proof of residency.
Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
As of Monday, Mineral County’s total for positive COVID cases is 45, with 32 of those having recovered.
There has been one death in Mineral County attributed to the virus.
