KEYSER - It won’t be quite what the seniors expected when they started the last year of their high school career in August, but it will definitely be a graduation that will go down in the history books.

Seniors at both Keyser and Frankfort will be walking across the stage on video today - the day they were supposed to literally walk up and receive their diploma.

Both Keyser and Frankfort had previously set up times for the seniors to come to the school, dressed in cap and gown and socially distanced, and be filmed as they walked up and received a mock diploma from their principal. Filming was done over a period of three or four days so no large groups of seniors would be at the schools at the same time.

The video footage of each senior has since been edited together into one professionally produced graduation video which will be shared online at the time the original graduation ceremonies were to take place: 4 p.m. for Frankfort and 7 p.m. for Keyser.

According to superintendent Troy Ravenscroft, the videos will be shared via link on the Mineral County Schools website at, under “News and Notifications.”

Those wishing to watch Frankfort’s graduation may also find it at the Frankfort High School Facebook page, or to watch Keyser’s graduation, go to the Keyser High School Facebook page, Twitter, or the TornadoTV YouTube channel.

Both will be available on the Allegany Media YouTube channel.
