KEYSER - Mineral County has received notification of three more positive COVID-19 test results, bringing the total for the county up to 25.

Personnel from the Mineral County Health Department are working to identify anyone who may have come in close contact with any of the three patients, including family members, friends, co-workers and health care professionals.

Wednesday’s report was the second time in less than a week that the county’s positive results have jumped by three.

Health department administrator A.Jay Root urges the county’s residents to continue to practice safety protocol as the county rides out the current escalation in positives.

"We would urge our community to continue to follow the guidance put forth by the CDC and the health department," he said.

"The best practices to help slow the spread of the virus includes following social distancing, wearing a mask in public places and washing hands for at least 20 seconds."
