To the Editor:
The Keyser Volunteer Fire Department Inc. announced Monday that they are mailing their annual letters for financial help from the public they serve.
The letter explains that the department has some outdated equipment that needs replaced ASAP. The donations are also used for maintaining the firefighting and rescue equipment, as well as helping with routine operating expenses such as fuel, training, insurance and the fire prevention program.
President J. L. Rice explained that this year’s request is more important than ever as the department has not been able, because of the coronavirus restrictions, to hold their “regular” money-raising events such as cash bash and bingo. Both fund raisers were planned for this spring.
if anyone does not receive this request letter, they may contact any member or call the fire department at 304-788-1371.
