KEYSER - Due to the growing concerns about COVID-19, the 2020 Mineral County STEM Festival has been canceled.
The STEM Festival is such a large event with families traveling from a wide region that coordinators felt it was definitely in the best interest of the public to cancel.
WVU Extension and the 4-H program are following WVU’s lead in addressing the COVID-19 (coronavirus) concerns.  With guidance from WVU,  the Saturday, March 28, event that was scheduled at WVU Potomac State College was cancelled. The highest priority in the decision was the safety and well-being of  families, volunteers, faculty and staff.
“While we know these steps are necessary, we also know how important and valuable the STEM Festival experience has been for our area youths and families,” said a spokesperson for the program.
“This disruption of our scheduled events is only in an effort to keep our communities safe. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this unprecedented time.”
The Mineral County STEM Festival collaborative looks forward to hosting the STEM Festival for families throughout the region on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
