KEYSER - The Keyser City Council will be addressing a number of issues Wednesday when they hold their first official meeting of the new year.
Several items of old business are on the agenda, including bids for the water plant roof, fire fees, an inclement weather policy, the proposed Baltimore Gardens Housing Development and Marple Apartments.
The proposal for a Business and Occupation (B&O) holiday or tax break for businesses is also on the agenda. Council member Eric Murphy had made the proposal during the council’s Dec. 11 meeting and members agree to discuss it at the next meeting.
Four items of new business are also on the agenda for Wednesday: Rental schedules, Shawn Snyder on the topic “Community Awareness,” council approval for the 2020 election, and personnel (dispatch, chief of police, city administrator, accountant and council) responsibilities.
The meeting gets underway at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall, and is open to the public.
