PIEDMONT - A community Christmas concert that has continued in the Tri-Towns area for 20 years will once again not only help spread Christmas cheer but will also help raise money for two of the area’s most successful and long-running Christmastime programs.
In addition, the date has been set for Santa to make a visit to Keyser for the traditional Photos With Santa fund raiser.
The Christmas Concert at Piedmont Presbyterian Church, scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 1, at 5 p.m., will raise funds for the Warm the Children program and for Toys for Joy.
Warm the Children provides warm winter clothing to Mineral County children in need, and Toys for Joys enables them to have gifts for Christmas.
There are currently 16 individuals scheduled to perform during the concert: Darnell Allen, Vicky Symons, Evie Groves, Laura Groves, Sherri Heare, Jean Marple, Mary Michaels, Tom Morgan, Elisa Partlow, Scott Paxton, Richard Ridder, Bob Stephens, Don Stephens, Tammy Trenter, Melissa Tucker and Dr. Charles Whitehill.
Refreshments will be served following the concert.
Prior to the concert, on Friday, Nov. 23, Santa will make an early visit for Warm the Children’s annual photo session with the jolly old elf.
Everyone is invited to bring their little ones and get their pictures with Santa from noon to 2 p.m. at the Mineral County Health Department.
For $25, parents will receive two 5x7s, one 3.5x5, and eight wallets. Additional photos may be ordered for an additional cost.
All proceeds will go to Warm the Children.
Photos will be taken by Paisley Sky Photography.
