KEYSER - “We have been very blessed here in Mineral County to have this gentleman to run the Chamber office. He does such a good job,” said Mineral County commissioner Roger Leatherman as he praised the efforts of Chamber of Commerce president Randy Crane during the opening of the annual Summit Awards.
“I am blessed to have the best board in Mineral County with the Chamber of Commerce,” replied Crane, noting that members do so many things for the Chamber and to give back to the community.
Tallying up member’s efforts, Crane joked that he had a scoreboard that wouldn’t fit through the door.
“One person kept coming to the top over and over,” he said as he announced Patsy Koontz as the Board Member of the Year, noting that she has invested more and more time and responded to over 4,000 emails.
“We are very excited about where the Chamber is going,” said Koontz.
“We are so fortunate to have this kind of talent working every day to build prosperity, help the less fortunate and keep us all safe,” said Crane. “Everyone in this room is part of a remarkable story in moving our community forward.”
Crane offered thanks to the local sponsors for the annual Summit Awards, including Clearway, FirstEnergy, First Peoples Community Federal Credit Union, First United Bank and Trust, Sealed Air, Western Maryland Health System, Blackburn Family Corporation and the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce.
