KEYSER- Keyser City Police and other agencies were present at the Keyser Middle School Friday after an anonymous tip was called in to the safe school hotline number reporting a threat against the Keyser Middle School.
The tip came from a parent who reported that their child informed them of a threat made against the school by another student.
Officers took every precaution to maintain school safety and to investigate the alleged threat. Keyser City Police, West Virginia State Police, and Mineral County Sheriff’s Department did a joint investigation.
The alleged threat was found to be false and at no time were any of the staff or students in danger.
With police presence noticed at the Keyser Middles School, many parents voiced their concern on social media, with some parents stating their kids texted or called about  police presence at the school or the talk of threats.
The agencies finished their investigation and cleared the school. Spokesperson for the Keyser Police Department said they found the threat to be completely unfounded.
