KEYSER - As part of a community service project, incoming freshmen at West Virginia University Potomac State College spent time packing 3,200 bags for Food for Thought, a local nonprofit organization that collects food for elementary and middle school students in Mineral County.

Approximately 400 students are sent home each weekend with a food packet containing items such as crackers, cereals, noodles, mac-n-cheese, pudding cups, and cookies. The freshmen packed enough food packets to provide students with eight weeks’ worth of food.
