The Tri-State Area Pee Wee Football League kicked off action on Saturday. Mineral County's first game of the day saw the Ridgeley Hawks host the West Side Hunters Saturday morning in Ridgeley. That game was followed with a matchup of in-county rivals on Saturday night, as the Keyser Mini-Tornado played host to the Frankfort Colts at Alumni and Friends Stadium in Keyser.

The Tri-State Area Pee Wee Football League kicked off action on Saturday.  Mineral County’s first game of the day saw the Ridgeley Hawks host the West Side Hunters Saturday morning in Ridgeley.  That game was followed with a matchup of in-county rivals on Saturday night, as the Keyser Mini-Tornado played host to the Frankfort Colts at Alumni and Friends Stadium in Keyser.
In Saturday morning action from Ridgeley, the Hawks defeated the Hunters in C-Team action by a score of 19-0. The Hunters B-Team edged the Hawks 14-13, followed by the Hunters A-Team beating the Hawks 18-13 in a close contest. All in all, with the C-Team victory and closely contested contests at the B and A level, the Hawks fought hard all day, representing their organization well.
In the nightcap, the Keyser Mini-Tornado C-Team defeated Frankfort 32-6.  The Frankfort Colts B-Team defeated Keyser 19-0, while the Mini-Tornado A-team defeated the Colts in a close, 6-0 contest.  A large crowd assembled to see these in-county opponents kick off their respective seasons.
On Saturday night, the Mini-Tornado and Colts payed tribute to area law enforcement and first responders with a special recognition.  
Next Saturday, the Keyser Mini-Tornado will face Southern; the Frankfort Colts will play the Cumberland Renegades; Ridgeley will face Frostburg.
