KEYSER - Keyser City Police are investigating circumstances involving a body discovered Thursday morning in the West End of town.
According to KPD chief Tom Golden, the police received a call at approximately 10:05 a.m. for an unconscious, unresponsive individual discovered at the intersection of West Piedmont and North E streets and responded to the scene.
Keyser EMS was also called out, and it was confirmed at the scene that the male was deceased.
Golden said the person was identified as Ashby Doman, 31, of the Keyser area.
The body was sent to Charleston for autopsy, which had not yet been concluded by Friday afternoon.
“The results are not yet conclusive as to the cause of death,” Golden said.
He did confirm, however, that law enforcement was conducting interviews in connection with the case, which he described as “evolving.”
“We’re dedicating all our resources to this, and looking into all potential circumstances,” he said.
West Virginia State Police, the Mineral County Sheriff’s Department, and Potomac State College Campus Police are assisting with the investigation.
