CHESTER — A man missing from his county home since Tuesday was found dead Friday inside a parked car at a southern Chesterfield parking lot, less than two miles from his home.

Police said Timothy V. Kitt, 39, of the 2600 block of Mangowood Drive in the Colonial Ridge neighborhood, was discovered in his vehicle in the 15700 block of Woods Edge Road. Police did not identify the exact parking lot, but Google maps indicates a fast-food restaurant, hotel and convenience store have addresses in that block.

Kitt's body was taken to the state medical examiner's office in Richmond to determine the cause of death. There were no signs of foul play at the scene.

Police said Kitt's family told them he did not return home from work Tuesday and was officially declared missing the next day. The Colonial Ridge neighborhood is located off Branders Bridge Road just north of Colonial Heights
