KEYSER - Mineral County Schools honored mathematics teacher Amy Cowgill as the 2020 Mineral County Teacher of the Year and county executive secretary Linda Jackson as the 2020 Mineral County Service Personnel of the Year with a reception held at the Mineral County Technical Center..
Cowgill, who has been teaching math classes at Frankfort High School for over 15 years, was also honored as West Virginia State High School Math Teacher of the Year in 2016.
Also nominated for the county Teacher of the Year honor were: Amanda Bogdan, Jessica D’Accione, Robert Fazzalore, Darwin Gough, Teresa Lynn Leatherman, Sarah Malone, and Derek Stephen.
Linda Jackson serves Mineral County Schools as executive secretary in the central office and has been instrumental over the years in planning several county-wide events, including the Teacher and Service Personnel of the Year dinners and receptions.
Also nominated for that award were: Donna Canan, Charlene Deremer, Elizabeth Gray, Jacqueline Hanlin, Joan Hartman, Kim Keplinger, Regina Nelson, Nickole Price, Roxie Robertson and Sharon Smith.
