PETERSBURG — The Peabody High School National Alumni Association, or PHSNAA, was first organized to encourage interest in the Peabody Middle School and its students and the educational community. The association also assists the Petersburg Public School System by collaborating on projects that will benefit all students within the entire system.

Since the transfer of students to Vernon Johns Middle School, the association’s commitment of support in the educational community has not been altered. On February 6, a substantial donation of school supplies, along with a Staples gift card, were presented to Leigh Ann McKelway, Petersburg’s public information officer.

The Petersburg Public Schools supply closet is at the Blandford Academy, located at 816 E. Bank St, and is sponsored by the Petersburg Chamber of Commerce. It is staffed by volunteers from the Delta Sigma Theta sorority and supported by multiple community groups and individuals. The closet is an asset to the community, and PHSNAA is proud to be among those in the community who support our students and teachers.
