KEYSER - Mineral County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) will host their first CASA Super Hero 5K Run/Walk Saturday,  April 27, 2019 during National Child Abuse Awareness Month.

Mineral County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) train community volunteers that are then empowered by the courts to help judges make informed decisions for the life of an abused and neglected child. These volunteer advocates also act as the voice of the child throughout the court proceedings and are most often the one consistent adult in these children’s lives, vigilantly fighting for and protecting their fundamental right to be treated with the dignity and respect every child deserves.
In order to continue serving 100 percent of Mineral County’s abused and neglected children, CASA needs the community’s support.
On the day of the event registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the race will start at 9 a.m. Registration fee will be $25 for adults and $20 for ages 13 and under. Participants can save money by pre-registering at https://www.mineralcountyfrn.org/casa-super-hero-5k-.html  Early registration is $20 for adults and $15 for ages 13 and under.
All proceeds from this event will benefit Mineral County CASA, allowing them to continue giving abused and neglected children a fighting chance for a safe, happy, and forever home.
