KEYSER - An Elk Garden man has been arraigned on additional charges stemming from an incident occurring earlier in Elk Garden.
According to West Virginia State Police, Dakota Daugherty, 24, was arraigned via video from the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail in Augusta on charges of burglary and grand larceny.
On Feb. 15, 2019, Daugherty had been charged with burglary and grand larceny following in investigation initiated on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019 in Elk Garden, by Sr. Tpr. Travelpiece of the West Virginia State Police. 
A total of five firearms were allegedly stolen during the commission of the crime as reported by the victim. Travelpiece, with the assistance of Sr. Tpr. Bailey and Cpl. Hartman, were able to recover four of the firearms. The fifth one was recovered on Feb. 8, 2019, as a result of a domestic assault charge also investigated by the WVSP. 
Daugherty was arraigned via video on additional charges of burglary and grand larceny. He has been incarcerated at Potomac Highlands since his Feb. 8, 2019, arrest. On that date, he was charged with two counts of domestic assault second offense, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, and possession of stolen property, as well as discharging a firearm with-in 500' of a dwelling. The firearm in question was the fifth and final firearm recovered during Sr. Tpr. Travelpiece's investigation.   
Daugherty is a suspect in another theft investigation still pending.
