KEYSER - When  Austen Weimer of Weimer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Moorefield was looking for a location to expand at the suggestion of the manufacturers, he decided Keyser was the perfect spot.
Located between his Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in Moorefield and his Chevrolet dealership on Mount Savage Road in Cumberland, Weimer said the new location in the former Sheetz building in Keyser is a high-traffic site with great potential.
“We were approached with the opportunity by Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and we said, ‘Of course we’re interested,’” Weimer said recently as he sat inside the recently renovated building.
“This is a great area, and it’s definitely one of the busiest locations we’ve had in terms of volume.”
Not only did Weimer renovate the former convenience store building, which he is leasing from the Castiglia family, but he is also working on the former Pristine lot and a portion of the Pritchard building next door, which he is leasing from attorney Jim Smith.
While the office is already open for business, work continues at the other two locations to expand the area in which to service and detail the vehicles he sells.
“We’re a full-service business, so you don’t have to take your vehicle somewhere else,” he says. “We’re also the only dealership in the area that offers a life-time power tran warranty.”
He thanks the property owners for their assistance in getting the new location open.
“Both the Castiglias and Mr. Smith have been great to worth with,” he said.
Weimer points out, however, that he plans to stay in the current Keyser location only for about three years as his goal is to eventually construct a brand new state-of-the-art facility nearby.
The new sign at the corner of the current lot includes the architect’s rendering of the planned complex.
Until then, Weimer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram has five to six employees and a lot full of new and previously-owned vehicles.
Hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
