LUKE - Allegany County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Luke Monday for the report of a person tampering with vehicles.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a person fitting the suspect’s description on Grant Street. The suspect, later identified as Nicolle Elizabeth Hebb, 26 years old, of Thomas, West Virginia, attempted to flee as deputies approached her.
Ms. Hebb was detained on Grant Street until a further investigation was completed. Witnesses at the scene said they observed Hebb trying to gain entry into several vehicles on Grant Street and in the Verso Corporation parking lot.
Hebb did manage to steal a vehicle from the area, which belonged to a City of Luke employee, from across the street and drove it to a nearby park-and-ride lot. She was approached by the victim, at which time Hebb ran from the scene and up Grant Street, where she was detained by police and subsequently arrested.
After Ms. Hebb’s arrest, CDS was found along with another victim’s wallet on her person.
As a result, Hebb was charged with resisting arrest, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, theft under $25,000, theft less than $100, CDS paraphernalia, possession of CDS not marijuana, and four counts of willful tampering with motor vehicles.
Hebb was held at $25,000 and is currently at the Allegany Detention Center.
