KEYSER - The Mineral County Family Resource Network and the Burlington United Methodist Family Services Parents As Teachers Program have teamed up to host their first Child and Family Expo Wednesday, June 27, from 2-7 p.m. at the Keyser Middle School.
Representatives from local agencies/organizations will have informational displays, and many will have giveaways and activities, and there will be opportunities for a few basic health checks as well. There will be lots of fun for the whole family; children will enjoy face painting, balloon animals, a bouncy house, fun run, interactive reading with pirate “Jack Sparrow,” and lots more.
There will also be plenty for parents to do with and without their children (Catamount Children’s Center will be on site to provide childcare). Workshops/classes will include dance, martial arts, cyber safety, kindermusik, bullying, Happy Brain Happy Baby, narcan, CPR/first aid, Kiddin Around Yoga, and more.
Workshops/classes will be held each hour starting at 2:30 p.m. with the last series at 5:30 p.m.
A complete schedule can be found at mineralcountyfrn.org.
This event will also have food vendors selling fair type foods, i.e. funnel cakes, kettle corn, fried Oreos, and Kona Ice.
Amanda Mangan from Alllegany Radio Corporation will be onsite with a live remote. There will be lots of opportunity for both the adults and children to win door prizes.
There will be a small pop up farmers market and the first 50 families will receive a $5 voucher to purchase fruits and/or vegetables.
This event will have a little bit of something for everyone and is free and open to the public.
