PIEDMONT - An early morning fire destroyed a property on West Hampshire Street in Piedmont Wednesday.
The home was reportedly unoccupied, and the blaze was called in to Mineral County 911 by a neighbor shortly before 5:30 a.m.

PIEDMONT - An early morning fire destroyed a property on West Hampshire Street in Piedmont Wednesday.
The home was reportedly unoccupied, and the blaze was called in to Mineral County 911 by a neighbor shortly before 5:30 a.m.
Smoke poured out of the building and flames lit up the predawn sky as firefighters worked to get the blaze under control. They were on the scene for approximately three hours, and no injuries were reported.
No information was available as to the possible cause of the blaze.
Firefighters responded to the scene from Piedmont, Westernport, Keyser, Elk Garden, Ridgeley, New Creek, Fountain, Bloomington, Midland and Barton.
Keyser EMS and the Mineral County Sheriff’s Department were also on the scene.
