KEYSER - Seniors at Keyser High School recently participated in the statewide College Decision Day campaign.
Staff from Potomac State College (PSC) of West Virginia University were present to recognize those planning to attend PSC in the fall.
According to Chancellor Paul L. Hill, Ph.D., of the WV Higher Education Policy Commission (HEPC), “College Decision Day is inspired by sports events, such as the NCAA national signing day and the NFL draft.  We want to make sure we showcase the academic excellence of our students with the same enthusiasm and pride as we devote to sports.”
A total of 34 high schools in West Virginia are participating in the annual event as a way of recognizing seniors who plan to continue their education at the collegiate level.  The HEPC coordinated this initiative through the College Foundation of West Virginia as a way of helping students attend college.
College Decision Day is part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher initiative which focuses on inspiring students to pursue advanced training and higher education.
