Keyser High tennis players rolling on

FROSTBURG, Md. -

The Keyser girls and boys tennis teams improved to 8-3 with wins over Mountain Ridge on Wednesday afternoon at Frostburg State University tennis courts.  The girls went 6-1 and the boys followed with a 5-2 victory.
Bri Phillips (No. 1 singles) and Caitlin Dorsey (No. 2 singles) got thing
rolling for the Keyser girls with 8-2 and 8-3 scores respectively. Ashley
Elliott (No. 4 singles) won her flight 8-1.  Corrin Fink (No. 5 singles) won
8-2 to seal the win for Keyser.  Jenna Wilt (No. 4 singles) was the lone winner
for Mountain Ridge with an 8-1 victory.
The Keyser girls won both doubles matches.  Phillips teamed up with Dorsey to take the number one doubles 8-2.  The team of Hillary Long and Mariah Bartlett playing number two doubles scored an 8-5 win.
Keyser boys won three of five single matches and both doubles matches for their
victory over Mountain Ridge. For Keyser Bryan Staggers (No. 2 singles) scored a
9-7 win.  Caleb Jones (No. 3 singles) won 8-1.  Daniel Steedman (No. 4 singles
won 8-3.
Austin Weimer (No. 1 singles) and Keinan Harper (No. 5 singles) won 9-7 and 9-8
[7-4] respectively for Mountain Ridge.
Keyser took both doubles matches with Andy Miller teaming up with Jones to
capture the number one doubles 8-3.  Jason Meyer and Blake Davis scored an 8-4
win playing number two doubles.
Keyser returns to action on Tuesday April 15 when strong Petersburg teams come to town for a 4:00 match Petersburg has handed Keyser two of their three loses.
