WVU defeats Delaware State

Senior shooting guard Alex Ruoff led the way for WestVirginia, Tuesdaynight against Delaware State, scoring 25 points, in the Mountaineers 76-42 win, over the Hornets.
Ruoff was six of nine from three-point range in the first half and made
another three in the second half, coming one short of tying the school record for three’s made in a game.
WVU (3-0) finished the game shooting 47 percent to Delaware State’s (1-6) 39 percent.
The Mountaineers out-rebounded the Hornets, 28-27. The Hornets turned the ball over 23 times and the Mountaineers turned it over just eight times.
WVU forward Da’Sean Butler finished the game with 12 points, seven rebounds, five assists and one steal.
Freshman forward Kevin Jones scored 11 points, grabbed four rebounds, had two steals and one block and assist, for the Mountaineers.
Freshman guard Darryl Bryant finished with 10 points, five assists and two rebounds, for WVU.
The Mountaineers made 18 of 23 free throws.
WVU held Delaware State to 42 points, a mark the Hornets have reached for the fourth straight game.
The Mountaineers return to action Friday night in Las Vegas, when they meet up with the Iowa Hawkeyes (5-0), in the semifinal game of the Findlay Toyota Las Vegas Invitational Tournament. The winner and loser will play the winner/loser of the Kentucky/Kansas State game, Saturday night, in Las Vegas.
