KEYSER—The Frankfort Falcons are sixth in the Class AA rankings for the second straight week in the Charleston Daily Mail poll, released Monday afternoon.
The Falcons bludgeoned Berkeley Springs, 50-7, on Friday evening.
The top five is rearranged, but the same: Magnolia was a unanimous choice at No. 1 (200 points), followed by Week 1 Keyser foe Wayne (177 points), Ravenswood (144), James Monroe (131), and Bluefield (120), the lone team with a loss after last week’s 23-15 defeat against Charlotte (NC) Country Day.
Frankfort (112) has a comfortable cushion on the rest of the top ten: Sherman is seventh (78), Westside eighth (48), Braxton County ninth (37), and Point Pleasant tenth (17).
Also receiving votes were Scott (13), Frankfort victim Grafton (11), Shady Spring (4), Keyser (3), Liberty Raleigh (3), Poca (2), and Chapmanville (1).
South Charleston received 17 of the 20 first-place votes in Class AAA.
Martinsburg got two first-place votes and is second.
Bridgeport, Spring Valley, and University round out the top five.
Fairmont Senior received the other first-place vote and is sixth.
Madonna tallied 15 No. 1 votes to top Class A; Williamstown (two first-place votes) is second.
Future Mountain Ridge opponent Wheeling Central is ranked third, followed by Man and Parkersburg Catholic.
Moorefield is ninth with 21 votes.
