KEYSER—After a trip to regionals last fall, Keyser volleyball coach Autumn Beavers is hopeful that her team can take the next step this fall.
“Our goal is the state tournament,” Beavers said during summer workouts at KHS Tuesday morning. “We can do if we play as a team.”
“It’s been pretty decent so far,” said Beavers of her team’s effort this week. “If these girls can get their technique down, we may have a better team that last year.”
Hitters Kaitlynn Simpson and Brooke Mangold were highlighted by Beavers as players to watch this fall.
Keyser will have to do without seven graduated seniors, including a pair of players, Sha’Kia Coates and Cindy Ellifritz, who plan to continue their careers at Potomac State College this fall.
Beavers said that her team’s schedule will include a trip to Robert C. Byrd for tournament play.
