The boy's tennis team picked up their third win in as many days on Saturday by
beating Mountain Ridge 5-2. On Thursday, Keyser traveled to Bishop Walsh and
won a 4-3 match. On Friday they beat Southern on the clay courts at Mountain
Lake Park Tennis Club 5-2.
In the Bishop Walsh match, Keyser picked up wins from Andy Miller (no. 1
singles), Caleb Jones (no. 2 singles), and Matt Idleman (no. 5 singles).
Johnny Groetzinger and Ian Stanley won singles matches for Bishop Walsh.
Andrew Sieman and Groetziner won the number one doubles match while Cody Lambka and Tyler Van Meter won the number two doubles for Keyser.
Against Southern, Andy Miller, Caleb Jones, and Matt Idleman won singles matches for Keyser, while Royce Warnick and A J Storck scored two points for Southern.
Miller and Jones teamed up and won the number one doubles and Jason Meyer and
Blake Davis won number two doubles for Keyser.
Against Mountain Ridge, Miller and Jones won at numbers one and two
respectively. Daniel Steedman sent Keyser up 3-1 with a victory at number four
position. Eric William was the lone singles winner for Mountain Ridge.
In doubles play, Miller and Jones won at number one. Jason Meyer and Blake
Davis won the number three doubles position. For Mountain Ridge Keiren Harper
and Ricky Weimer won number two doubles.
Keyser's record stands at 14-4. Keyser's final match is scheduled for Monday,
April 28, when they host Fort Hill at the South End Complex.
