Hartley’s/Personal Best 72, Chaney-Buskirk Insurance 62

CUMBERLAND—Despite 34 points from Logan Wolford, Chaney-Buskirk Insurance fell in varsity summer basketball action at the Riverside YMCA in Cumberland on Thursday night.
Wolford scored 19 of Chaney-Buskirk’s 28 first-half points as Hartley’s built a 36-28 halftime lead.
The blue-clad visitors were kept at arm’s length throughout the second half, closing to within four points at 48-44 with 10:20 left in the second half on a pair of Ty Bowers layups.
Chaney-Buskirk again closed to within four on a three-point basket at the 7:06 mark, but Hartley’s scored five straight points and led by no less than six the rest of the way.
Chaney-Buskirk (2-5) plays Allegany next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Keyser Moose lose by forfeit to CBIZ

CUMBERLAND—With only four players in attendance, Keyser Moose forfeited their varsity summer league game to CBIZ on Thursday night.
However, with Shannon Redman on loan to complete Keyser’s five, the two teams played, with the Moose winning, 44-41.
Redman actually led Keyser with 15 points; Ethan LaRue added 11.
Keyser scored the first four points and trailed just once (13-11) en route to building a 28-19 halftime lead.
With the clock running continuously in the second half, CBIZ was able to close against Keyser’s tired legs and closed to within three points with 1:17 left, but ran out of time.
Keyser (4-3) plays Northern Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.
