BERKELEY SPRINGS—The Keyser boys’ track team won the Potomac Valley Conference meet at Berkeley Springs on Tuesday with a score of 109 points, with the girls’ team finishing second to Berkeley Springs and posting a total of 79 points.
Frankfort was third in both the boys’ (54 points) and girls’ (72 points) meets.
In the boys’ meet, Jeremy Green set a school record with a time of 14.8 seconds in the 110-meter high hurdles, with Frankfort’s Josh Howser (15.86), Bobby Weimer (17.75), Ben Leedom (18.01) and Keyser’s Caleb Sherwood (19.31) completing a Mineral County sweep of the top five spots.
KHS’s Matt Wilmer won the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.46 seconds; Andrea Restelli (12.24) was fourth and Kadeem Garland (12.4) took fifth.
Wilmer breezed to the win in the 200-meter race as well, posting a time of 24.1 seconds; Garland was third (25.94), Frankfort’s Sripadh Sharma (26.54) fourth, and Keyser’s Kaison Rohrbaugh fifth (27.00).
Rohrbaugh won the 400-meter dash in a time of 53.6 seconds, with Keyser’s Taige Redman second (54.33) and Dustin Fertig fourth (57.84). Freshman Cory Brown of Frankfort took fifth (58.9).
Fertig and Langston Hines of Keyser took third and fourth in the 800-meter run.
In the 1600-meter race, Johnny Macklen of Frankfort finished third (4:49), Taven Rohrbaugh of Keyser took fourth (4:55), and FHS’s Travis Faidley fifth (4:56).
Berkeley Springs finished 1-2-3 in the 3200-meter run; Keyser’s Randall Shreve and Joshua Biser took fourth and fifth.
Leedom won the 300-meter hurdles for Frankfort with a time of 45.4 seconds, narrowly defeating Keyser’s Wes Washington (45.47).
Restelli was third (48.07) and Weimer fourth (48.8).
Keyser swept the relays.
The quartet of Garland, Green, Redman, and Jarell Ross won the 4x100 race with a time of 47.2 seconds.
Frankfort was third (Leedom, Nathan Chase, Logan Wolford, and Ty Bowers) with a time of 49.7 seconds.
Keyser won the 4x200 race despite a dropped baton on the hand-off from Matt Wilmer to Jarell Ross, with Ross and Jeremy Green making up enough ground for anchor leg Taige Redman to rally for the win.
In the 4x400, Redman, Kaison Rohrbaugh, Washington, and Ross won in a time of 3:45.75.
Macklen, Wolford, Faidley, and Brad Miller (4:00) finished third.
Hines, Shreve, Taven Rohrbaugh, and Fertig took the 4x800 (8:29); Faidley, Matt Rummer, Miller, and Macklen took third for Frankfort (9:17).
Washington, Green, Wilmer, and Ross won the shuttle hurdles (59.63 seconds); Leedom, Weimer, Brown, and Howser finished in 1:07.14.

KHS’s Washington came out on top in the long jump (18-07).
Howser was second (18-03) and Keyser’s Damon Thorne and Scott Kittrell were fourth and fifth (38-02.5 and 35-06.5).
Kittrell won the discus with a throw of 125-09, easily outdistancing Frankfort’s Bo Volmerhausen (107-05).
Keyser’s Derek Spencer was fifth (102-00).
In the girls’ meet, Mineral County took all but two of the track events, but lost ground in the field.
Keyser’s Autumn Hudson (13.89) finished second in the 100-meter dash, with Frankfort’s Kayley Brothers (14.1) and Keyser’s Danielle Kesner (14.25) finishing third and fourth.
Julia Ludwick of Keyser won the 200-meter dash (28.8 seconds); teammate Sara Parks (30.97) was fourth.
Holly Iser of Frankfort finished fifth (33 seconds).
FHS’s Crystal Moreland won the 400-meter dash (1:04.10), with Mineral County runners Sha’Kia Coates (KHS; 1:05.98), Kathleen Myers (KHS; 1:09.7), Shanna King (FHS; 1:11), and Parks (1:11.3) completing a sweep of the top five.
Rebekah Messenger delivered another Frankfort victory in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:40.3.
Keyser’s Sarah Boddy (2:45) and Hannah Biser (2:46) were third and fourth.
Rebekah McBride continued Frankfort’s run, taking the 1600-meter race in a time of 5:34.
Teammate Brittany Armentrout finished fourth (5:55) and Keyser’s Chelsea Willis fifth (5:58).
McBride completed the long-distance double, winning the 3200-meter event in a time of 12:13.
Armentrout was third (12:38.1) and Willis fourth (12:41).
Keyser was 1-2-3 in the 100-meter hurdles: Darlene Williams won (17.62 seconds), Kesner was second (18.7), and Hudson third (19.41).
Frankfort’s Breanna Eversole finished second in the 300-meter hurdles (57.48 seconds); Hudson took fourth (1:01.2) and Williams fifth (1:01.9).
The two Mineral County schools won all the relays.
Frankfort won the 4x100 meter race (Brothers, Rebekah Messenger, Brooke Saville, and Moreland) in a time of 55.6, with Keyser’s team of Kesner, Ludwick, Coates, and Payton Derryberry third in at ime of 56.7 seconds.
The two went 1-2 in the 4x200, with Keyser’s quartet of Coates, Payton Derryberry, Ludwick, and Parks narrowly edging Frankfort’s Brothers, Saville, Jordan VonHagel, and Messenger (1:56.4 to 1:57).
Keyser won the 4x400 race (4:33) with Coates, Derryberry, Myers, and Ludwick; Frankfort (Sarah Messenger, Shanna King, Ashley Kady, and VonHagel) was third with a time of 5:01.
Frankfort took the 4x800, with the two Messengers, McBride, and Moreland posting a time of 10:16, five seconds better than Keyser’s Biser, Boddy, Derryberry, and Willis.
Keyser won the shuttle hurdle relay in a time of 1:15 with Williams, Tiesha Dawson, Kesner, and Hudson competing.
In the field, Frankfort’s Brooke Saville finished second (4-10) in the high jump.
Moreland took the long jump for the Lady Falcons (14-05); Brothers was fourth (13-04).
Matraca Shirley of Keyser finished third in the shot put (28-2.25), with Frankfort’s Steffani Shingle taking fourth (27-3.25).
Shirley was second in the discus (91-06); teammate Tianna Minifield was fourth (79), and Frankfort’s Nicole Bright finished fifth (65-09).
All four teams race again on Monday at Hampshire High’s Steve Method Invitational.
The regional meet to decide state participants is set for Wednesday at Preston County.
