Trailing 3-0 late in the game Potomac Stat came back with four runs in the eighth inning and tacked another in the ninth to defeat Chesapeake, 5-3, in college baseball at Chesapeake.
The Catamounts opened the eighth inning with three singles, and with one out, the Cats scored on a sacrifice fly before Kyle Orensky doubled home two runs to knot the score 3-3. Jason Lombard followed with a single to bring Orensky home and give Potomac State a 4-3 lead.
In the final inning, Kevin Griffin hit a leadoff double, moved to third on a sacrifice and scored a single by Brock Stevens.
Justin Grantham was 3-for-4 with three singles for Potomac State.
Griffin singled and doubled and Mike Smith singled twice.
Tony Mitchell singled three times for Chesapeake.
Potomac State (20-4) will host Monroe, N.Y. in a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
