MOOREFIELD, W.Va. - If you prefer reading  the results of a baseball game in one quick sentence,  Game 1 of the doubleheader against Moorefield Post 64 is for you; Zack Whitacre took the mound and shut’em down.
The Frankfort Falcon All-Conference pitcher had his nasty stuff on display as he pitched 6 complete innings, striking out 9 batters, and giving up 0 runs.
While holding Moorefield Post 64 to a goose-egg on the scoreboard, offensively Whitacre displayed his versatility as the leadoff hitter smacking  2 hits and 3 RBI.  
Whitacre chalked up another stripe in the win column as Romney Post 91 cruised to a 10-0 win over Moorefield Post 64.
Whitacre was helped by former Falcon teammate John Ackerman who posted 2 hits and 3 RBI.
Romney Post 91 benefited from the return of  Cam White after his siesta in Mexico, as the well rested Keyser kid recorded 2 hits and 2 runs.
Berkeley Springs standout Tobin Whittington was in the mix as well getting 2 hits, 1 run, and 3 RBI.
In Game 2, Romney lost a tough back and forth battle 5-4 as Moorefield Post 64 proved to be extremely pesky late in the game. Moorefield scored 4 runs in the 5th & 6th innings to clinch a victory over the visiting squad.
