KEYSER - The Keyser High Alumni will once again hit the gridiron next week for the third annual KHS Alumni Football Game.
After playing the Frankfort High Alumni for two years in a row, KHS will face the Hampshire Trojan Alumni this year at Alumni Field in Keyser.
The game will kickoff at 7pm on Friday, June 23rd.
“We have about 31 on the roster, and there are still some out there we know want to play,”  team member A.J. Root told the News Tribune.
“I figure we’ll probably have between 35-40 who will end up playing.”
Root said in the past alumni have ranged from “recent grads to 58 years old.”
Tickets for the contest are $10 each (free for children under 12 years) and proceeds from all tickets sold in advance will go back to the school.
“We’re trying to sell as many tickets before the game as we can,” Root said, noting that proceeds from tickets sold at the gate on the night of the game will go back to the ticket company, not KHS.
According to Root, local proceeds from past games have been used on the weight room and locker rooms at the athletic complex, among other things.
“Sean (Coach Sean Biser) took us around the other night and showed us some of the stuff,” Root said. “It was neat to know a big chunk of what they’ve done has come from these games. We’ve been able to help them do some things that they hadn’t been able to do.”
Don’t wait until gameday, purchase your tickets today! Available at Fox’s Pizza Den in Keyser, Hoover’s Bar & Grill, and the Mineral County Health Department.
