HUNTINGTON, W.Va - Ranked #2 heading into the championship match, Frankfort’s Austin Pumphrey took an early 2-0 lead over the #1 ranked 138lb wrestler, Robert Bozek of Oak Glen.  Austin Pumphrey led 2-0 after the first round by earning points for a nice takedown. After the second round Austin Pumphrey was still leading 2-1 with only one period left to go in the  state championship match. At the start of the third round Pumphrey added to his score and so did Bozek, with Austin leading 4-3 with only 60 seconds remaining.  Late in the third period, Robert Bozek managed to make a move and earn a takedown in the final seconds. Bozek was fortunate to  squeak out a 1 point win (5-4) over Austin Pumphrey. Robert Bozek is a senior who finished with a record of 42-8, while Austin Pumphrey is a junior who finished with a record of 37-3.
