Reed’s Pharmacy: Going above and beyond to ‘help folks get better’
To the Editor:
How wonderful it is to live in our community!  We truly do live in an area where most people are kind and helpful when given the opportunity.  I can walk down the street and say hello to folks whether I know them or not and usually get smiles and greetings in return.  I generally find businesses where employees do their jobs and treat customers respectfully.  I must say, however, that I have found one of our local businesses to be a place where the employees do more than their jobs and are far more than kind and respectful.  I want to publicly share my appreciation for the quality of service I found at Reed's Drug Store on Main Street in Keyser.
My young daughter recently spent almost a week in the hospital at Morgantown recovering from pneumonia and several other infections, all of which were being treated through IV antibiotics and breathing treatments until we left Morgantown.  When we returned that afternoon and tried to get her prescriptions filled, I had to wait for quite a while at one of the pharmacies, only to find out that two of her needed medications could not be filled at that location.  After visiting and calling several other pharmacies, I was told that her medication could not be ready until the next day.  As any parent would understand, I was quite upset that my daughter would be without her medication after a lengthy hospital stay, fearing that her infections would recur with missing doses.  In a last ditch effort shortly before closing time, we stopped at Reed's.  Thank God for them!  They not only took care of my prescription, they took care of my family.  The folks there explained all of my daughter's medications to me, made sure my insurance covered everything, and asked and listened as I explained her diagnoses.  Everyone in the store was beyond kind and caring and has been the same way even when I have come in without tears in my eyes and distress on my face.
While I am certainly not complaining about the other businesses in the area who are very competent and friendly, the folks at Reed's are extraordinary.  It is obvious that they truly care about their customers and are in the medical field to help folks get better.
Thank you so much to everyone at Reed's from my entire family.  We are blessed to have you in our community!
