Raffle off first trip across new bridge to aid KHS complex
To the Editor:
I would like to submit to the powers that be a good way to raise funds for the Keyser High Complex  (hopefully).  I state powers that be, because I do not know who to address about this, and I am sure it would take contacting more than just one entity to get this done.
I am just hoping that the idea will be good enough that the proper people will get involved to make this happen.  I know the complex is in need of funds for payments it has to make.
In any case, here is my idea:
It would start with a lottery system, that would require the buying of tickets for let's say, ten dollars.   The winning ticket holder would be the first (honorary) person to drive across the new Memorial Bridge (excluding, of course, the construction workers who will be doing this in the commission of their job).
I am sure the Mayor and City Council have things planned for the opening of the bridge, so this idea may not fit in with their plans.  But it would be a great way to raise funds for Keyser High,  and I am sure that McCoole could have the same type fund raiser for whatever their needs might be.
Just  a  thought.
