The Fort Ashby Library will be very busy next week with three different activities.
On Tuesday, 6–8 p.m., there will be a program for teens including a scavenger hunt with the theme “Someone Stole the Bugs.”  Participants will receive the first clue at the library in their hunt to find more clues, and the bugs hidden in various local businesses. 
The hopefully successful hunters will then retire to the Fort Ashby Library for pizza and a movie, that young man bitten by a spider again. 
Wednesday at 2 p.m. the movie will be about those buzzing insects that annoy one all summer long – bees.  Thursday if you are driving down Lincoln Street in Fort Ashby at 3 p.m. you’ll see the Bug Parade as the summer reading children dress up as bugs for their parade on Lincoln Street, followed by games, prizes and snacks at the library.
The Burlington Library summer reading children will be decorating “garden cupcakes” on Tuesday starting at 11 a.m. 
I’m told this involves chocolate cupcakes which will be decorated with gummy worms.  I’ve never been fond of worms myself, even the sugary worms, but I expect this activity will have just the right amount of “icky” for the kids.
At the Keyser Library preparations continue for our “Party in the Park” on Wednesday morning, July 23.  The Keyser Friends of the Library have engaged magician and clown Tom King to bring his “Don’t Bug Me” program to the party.
The movie at the Keyser Library on Tuesday at 6 p.m. will be about those bugs that are the bane of summer picnics – ants.
We expect a new shipment of books early next week.  So by this time next week the shelves should be full of new books for your reading pleasure. 
Remember, there’s nothing to match curling up with a good book when there’s a repair job to be done around the house.
