Lillian L. Price
SHORT GAP — Lillian L. (Chaney) Price, 93, of Short Gap, W.Va., passed away June 23, 2009, at the Dawnview Center.
Born Nov. 17, 1915, in Fort Ashby, she was the daughter of the late William and Emma (Willison) Chaney.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” F. Price Sr.; a son-in-law, Melvin Shanholtzer; a grandson-in-law, Chris Mantigh; an infant granddaughter; an infant great, great grandson; six brothers, Henry, Russ, John, Gene, Jesse, and Carl Chaney; and two sisters, Anna (Chaney) Long and Ollie (Chaney) White. 
She was the last member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Price was a homemaker and was well known for her baking skills.  On bread baking day, the neighbor kids could be seen at her door, waiting for their slice of hot bread, spread with yellow mustard.
She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include her four sons, William “Bill” Price Jr. and wife Carol, Short Gap, Paul Price and wife Bonnie, Short Gap, Don Price and wife Darlene, Toano, Va.,, and Ron Price and wife Leona, Terra Alta, W.Va.; three daughters, Norma (Price) Shanholtzer, Springfield, W.Va., Jeannie (Price) Robertson and husband Ralph, Fountain, and Anna (Price) Wheeler and husband Mike, Bellevue, Neb.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two others she considered “her boys,” Roger Brown, Fort Ashby, and Bob Knotts, Dawnview Center.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby,  on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Short Gap, on Friday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Martha Ognibene, officiating.
Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Craig Shanholtzer, Andrew Robertson, Scott Price, Steven Price, Derek Price, Wally Roberson, and Joe Wheeler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Ricker, Eric Britton, Cliff Williams, Mike Thomas, Jeff McCracken, Thomas Onoff, and Jeff Moon.
