BURLINGTON - Richard H. "June" Staggs Jr., 77, of Burlington, W.Va., died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at his residence.
Born on Sep. 24, 1932, at Burlington, W.Va., he was a son of the late Richard H. Staggs Sr. and Dorothy M. (Ebert) Staggs. He also was preceded in death by an infant sister, Shirley D. Staggs; and a brother, Donald Lee Staggs.
Mr. Staggs was the retired owner and operator of R.H. Staggs Septic and Excavating since 1970. He was a heavy equipment operator and he and his family also operated Staggs Tree Farm. He was a member of the Beaver Run Church of the Brethren and the West Virginia Christmas Tree Growers Association.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Donna M. (Rader) Staggs; one son, Richard H. "R.J." Staggs III and wife Rachel of Burlington; one brother, Randy B. Staggs and wife Thelma of Burlington; two sisters, Sue Heavener and husband Junior and Darlene Westrom and husband Paul, all of Burlington; and seven nieces and nephews, Ginger Kile, Benjie Staggs, Tracy Staggs, Julie Welch, Dixie Heavener and Tim and James Westrom.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel, on Thursday, Febr. 4, 2010, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Beaver Run Church of the Brethren on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Preston J. Miller officiating.

Friends may also call at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Beaver Run Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society, 182 N. Mechanic Street, Cumberland, MD  21502.
