Carl F. "Skip" Butler, Sr., 68, of 94 "C" Street, Keyser, WV, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Braddock Campus of the WMHS, Cumberland, MD.
Born on September 11, 1939 at Keyser, WV, he was a son of the late Mildred (Biser) Bosley. He also was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Butler; a sister, Bertha Thorpe and his faithful companion, "Tucker."
Mr. Butler was retired from the Penn Ventilator Company in Keyser with 28 years of service. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Keyser, and Local # 100, International Brotherhood of Sheet Metal Workers, Cumberland, MD. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed camping and spending time with his family at the river camp.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Fran R. (Chidester) Butler; four daughters, his triplets, Carla Braithwaite and husband Jeff of Keyser, Tara Butler and fiancé Eric Cramer of Augusta, WV, Holly Rogers and husband Jamie of Fountain, WV and Debra Bennear and husband David of Lakeland, FL; one son, Carl F. Butler, Jr. and wife Shannon of Reedsville, WV; two brothers, Homer Butler and wife Margaret Ann of Arkansas and William Butler and wife Geneva of Gloucester, VA; seven grandchildren, Dakota Virts, Emileigh Butler, Larissa Cramer, Emily Cramer, Josh Butler, Courtney Butler and Tracey Butler; several nieces and nephews and two very special friends, Leo Wilt and Gene Ray Haggerty.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Monday, May 12 from 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Tuesday, May 13 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Rowan officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
