Joseph C. Nutter, 98, of Rt. 6, Keyser, WV, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.
Born on October 18, 1909 at Shaw, WV, he was a son of the late Parker and Margaret (Eversole) Nutter. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Nutter was retired as a watchman and in the maintenance department with the WV Department of Highways and was a member of the Fountain Independent Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are his loving family, his wife of 64 years, Catherine N. (Virts) Nutter; one son, James Joseph Nutter and wife Jean of Keyser; two grandchildren, Julie Oliver of Washington State and Jami Jo Jones and husband Darron of Cumberland, MD; seven great-grandchildren and an extended family which includes several sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Fountain Independent Assembly of God Church on Sunday, May 4 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Theodore Hartman officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 3:00 p.m.
Interment will be in the Cabin Run Cemetery, Keyser.
