Thelma E. King
KEYSER, W.VA. – Thelma E. King, 75, of 599 W. Piedmont Street, Keyser, died on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Dawn View Nursing Home, Fort Ashby.
Born October 2, 1936, in Parkersburg, she was a daughter of the late Ira E. Powell, Sr. and Opal (Bibbe) Powell. She was also preceded in death by her husband George Paul King, a son Eugene Paul King, four brothers, James, Everett, Ira and Leonard Powell and two sisters, Locey Powell, Mary Meadows.
Mrs. King was a homemaker and a member of Vaugh Chapel United Methodist Church of Parkersburg, WV and VFW Post 3518 Nancy Hanks of Keyser.
Surviving are her two sons, Ronald F. King and wife Sherry of Winchester, VA and Edward Allen King of Moorefield; four daughters, Beverly Braithwaite Bishop of Cumberland, MD, Brenda Lee Keller and fiancé Robert Doll of Keyser, Ida Haines and fiancé Steven Poteete of Delray and Tina Marie Rodeheaver and husband Denny, Jr. of Keyser; two sisters, Carolyn Leasure of NC and Sharon Bibbe of Texas; 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Bryon Mayberry officiating.
Interment will follow in Queen’s Point Cemetery, Keyser.
