NEW CREEK, W.Va. -

Kerry Lynn Via, 60, of New Creek, WV, died Monday, July 7, 2008 at his residence.
Born on February 27, 1948 at Uniontown, PA, he was a son of the late Norman Benny and Louise W. (Thurston) Via. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Paige and Shirley Aronhalt and two brothers, Benny and Tom Via.
Mr. Via retired in 2000 after 27 1/2  years of service as an electrical supervisor with VEPCO at the Mount Storm Power Plant. He was a 1967 graduate of Elk Garden High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1968 until 1974. He was a member of the Elk Garden Church of God and also attended the Hi-Way Assembly of God Church, Kitzmiller, MD.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Anna Mae (Likens) Via; his stepchildren, Thomas Phillip Dixon and Stephanie Ann Dixon, both of Phoenix, Oregon; three brothers, his twin, Jerry Via of Keyser, WV, Norman Via of Swanton, MD and David Via of Baltimore, MD; six sisters, Sue Blizzard of Keyser, June Pennington and Joyce Oates, both of Baltimore, Gloria Doll and Donna Pancake, both of New Creek and Sharon Paugh of Mount Storm and five grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Wednesday, July 9 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, July 10 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Norman S. Via officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, where graveside military honors will be accorded.
