KEYSER, W.Va. -

Lynn H. Simpson, 83, of Keyser, W.Va., died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.
Born on January 24, 1925 at Beryl, West Virginia, he was a son of the late George Marvin Simpson and Nora Belle (Keplinger) Simpson.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Mae (Urice) Simpson on July 14, 1986; four brothers, Eston, Carl, Virgil and Doil Simpson and by two sisters, Helen Moore and Pauline Whisner.
Mr. Simpson was retired from Burgess Farm Service Southern States as a service representative. He was Methodist by faith. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and greatly enjoyed playing various stringed musical instruments, especially the mandolin.
Surviving are two sons, Gene H. Simpson, Sr. and wife Dolores “Dougie” and Gary L. Simpson and wife Billie, all of Keyser; a daughter, Virginia “Ginny” Wingler of Keyser; six grandchildren, Gene Simpson, Jr., Thomas Simpson and wife Jennifer, Toby Simpson and wife Melissa, Christie Whisner and husband Jeremy, Roy “JJ” Wingler, II and Eric Wingler and fiance Hannah Brill.  Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kailee, Kolton, T.J., Carlie, Breanna and Ashlyn and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel on Saturday, August 2 from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel on Sunday, August 3 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. James A. McCune officiating.
Interment will be in the Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville, West Virginia.
