KEYSER, W.Va. -

 Arnold K. Athey, 88, formerly of 245 Maple Avenue, Keyser, died Monday, June 30, 2008 at City Hospital, Martinsburg, WV.
Born June 9, 1920 in Keyser, W.Va., he was the son of the late James A. "Doc" Athey and S. Jane (Kesner) Athey.  He was also preceded in death by two wives: Rose Marie (Spano) Athey, October 30, 1976 and Mable V. (Reinhart) Athey, July 16, 2000 and a brother Irving T. “Doc” Athey.
Mr. Athey was a retired telegraph operator clerk from the B&O Railroad.  He was a member of Victory Independent Baptist Church, Keyser.
Surviving are his sons: James A. Athey and wife, Cheryl of Martinsburg and Donald L. Athey of South Riding, VA; one brother, Frederick L. Athey & wife, Barbara of Keyser; one grandson, Matthew Athey and two great grandchildren, Christopher and Faith Athey.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted in the funeral home Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Randall Larry officiating.
Interment will follow in Queens Point Cemetery, Keyser, W.Va.
